Passage

Passage is an ongoing project, 2018, witnessed my first exhibition. In this experience I focus on the idea of crossing through memories and its relation with our senses, how our souls travel through time and places when we hear a specific song or smell a specific scent. In this project, I invite the audience to live my passage experience. I've worked on a batch of artwork using printmaking technique, which I believe portrays the story I want to deliver. The material that I work on, e.g. zinc, wood, block, linoleum, interacts and changes the outcome when I use the tools and add acid. It transfers through different phases, just like we experience our multiple passages.

Teta Leila, used to put the orange peels on the chimney to have a nice smell, the shape of this artwork is representing the smoke of the chimney, every time I smell Orange I get transported to my Teta Leila’s house in Aleppo even if I'm miles away grocery shopping in Carrefour

Pistachio Cracking

This is a documentation of a unique experience in Aleppo, Every Summer on full moon nights, Alepians visit the fields of pistachios to listen to the sound of Pistachios Cracking... Every summer on full moon nights... I find myself visiting those fields and listening to the magical sound of pistachio

This is a documentation I started to forget the roads where I used to walk in Aleppo, I freaked out, so I sketched and pin its "abu walid, uncle shop, ice cream shop..." there is 3 different roads that I usually use to go to the shop where my mom worked I used only 1 road to go to Hend’s place.
